DESCRIPTION:

A superb-quality mahogany gentleman’s hanging rail, dating from approximately c.1890. We are pleased to offer these elegant rails and look forward to sharing them with our clients. Shown here are two of the six matching rails currently in stock, each available to purchase separately.

Each rail is finely made in rich mahogany and features a central brass hanging rail supported by a brass bracket. The reeded end columns are finished with decorative blocks and square caps, giving the piece a refined architectural quality. Each rail stands on a shaped base, leading down to block feet fitted with castors for easy movement, even when the rail is in use. A mahogany stretcher runs between the bases for added stability.

Brass covers conceal the bolts at each end, allowing the rails to be dismantled for easier storage or transport. Each rail breaks down into four pieces.

These rails would be ideal for high-end boutiques, gentleman’s outfitters, wedding shops serving both bride and groom, or a residential dressing room.

We have done very little to the rails, which is a testament to their quality and craftsmanship. In the workshop, the brass rail and fittings were cleaned, and an overall polish was applied.

WORKSHOP REPORT:

We have done nothing to any of the rails which is testimony to the quality and craftsmanship of them all that was done in the workshop was the brass rail etc. cleaned and then a polish applied overall.
