35 Drawer Mahogany & Brass Frame Haberdashery Shop Display Counter

CODE 0387

DESCRIPTION:
A superb 1930s haberdashery display counter by the quality maker Pollards of London. This is a particularly practical example, offering 35 drawers in total. It is the only counter we have had with this many drawers; our 20-drawer counters sell quickly, so we expect this one to be a strong seller.
The counter features a mahogany and brass frame with oak drawers, including oak drawer fronts and sides. Each drawer has an inset label holder set into the wooden handle, adding both character and practical detail.
The counter stands on decorative splayed brass feet. A new 6.4 mm laminated top has been fitted, as the original top showed scratches from years of use.
This highly practical and attractive counter is built to provide many years of enjoyment and reliable use. Its versatile design makes it equally well suited to a commercial setting, such as a shop or studio, or as a distinctive feature piece in the home.

DIMENSIONS:

WORKSHOP REPORT:
This counter due mostly to the quality of the manufacture has had very little done to it in the workshop as it wasn’t necessary all drawers work well and smooth all joints good and tight everything working as it should. We did give it a clean removing old residue from advertising stickers etc and then a polish. We also gave it a new stronger 6.44mm laminated glass top as the other showed scratches from years of use.
